Risk management circumstances for a life sciences or advanced technology company are different than those of other businesses. Whereas typical manufacturing companies may be concerned primarily with the risks of a fire or lawsuit claiming bodily injury from a user of their products, life sciences and advanced technology companies concerns often lie with their intellectual property, value of research and the securing of funding and regulatory approval for the commercialization of their technology.
Because of the vast technical differences, clients need a group of people working on their behalf to obtain measurable results. For example, we recently lead a collaboration to help a global medical device manufacturer save more than $500,000 in annual insurance costs. By working with involved parties – the client's insurance company, board of directors, legal advisors, division managers and equity partner – we were able to arrange an insurance program that benefited the client financially and strategically.
Our team is committed to advising companies in all stages of growth from start up through exit strategy and supporting the advancement of emerging technologies though education, association involvement and advisory board participation.
