Recently, I took on a new client who was paying premiums well above what they should have. On further inspection, I realized the previous agent didn't quite understand the details of the exposures associated with the practice and was unable to accurately convey this information to the carrier. Not only did this cost the client money, but the policy was inadequate.
While healthcare professionals need to stay focused on their patients, they also need a specialized insurance agent dedicated to their profession, who can develop and provide the expertise and the most cost-effective programs suited to their specific needs.
Getting to that point, however, takes hard work and due diligence, which quite frankly, not everyone is willing to do. I take the time to find small differences that can have a substantial impact on the bottom line. I educate my clients about changing market conditions and tailor their strategies to those conditions.
While many agents dole out off-the-shelf solutions for all their clients, I work with individual accounts to pinpoint specific needs and reduce risk.
Once a level of insurance is established, I work closely with multiple underwriters to provide options and help determine the best possible price and policy available. It's a lot of hard work, but in the end, it's what separates better agents from the rest.
